Midtjylland vs Rangers
Competition: UEFA Europa League
Date: 8 August 2019
Kick-off: 20:00 CET
Kenneth Andersen, Midtjylland’s coach, has been looking… realistic about his team’s chances against Rangers since day one, since the day they found out they would be facing the Glasgow side in the third qualifying round. He has been calling Rangers favorites to qualify, praising Steven Gerrard for the job he’s done at Ibrox since the day he took charge. Should be mentioned though that Midtjylland’s start of the season in Denmark’s championship has been very-very good; four games thus far, four wins, just one goal conceded. Last weekend, they beat Aalborg as well, thanks to Evander’s goal in the 89th minute, despite the fact that they were left with 10 men early in the second half. It should also be mentioned that three of those four victories were at home, and last weekend’s “three points earned just before the final whistle” was not an isolated incident; incredibly, Midtjylland have already done that three times(!), scoring the winner after the 88th minute.
Rangers didn’t impress anyone in their two games against Progrès Niederkorn in the previous qualifying round, but did enough to qualify comfortably; 2-0 win at home in the first leg, goalless draw in Luxembourg last week. The championship in Scotland just started, Steven Gerrard’s team beat Kilmarnock 1-2 on the road scoring the winner in added time, and the Gers coach was particularly pleased with how improved his team look in set pieces this season, compared to last year. He pointed out that set pieces can win matches, something Rangers didn’t do much last season. The goal they conceded in the 83rd minute last weekend was the first in five official matches this summer, championship and Europa League qualifiers combined.

Midtjylland vs Rangers: Head to head Stats
No history between these two.
Midtjylland vs Rangers: Prediction
The hosts are given a slight advantage to win the game, but I wouldn’t bet on that. I expect a very tight match, with hardly any goals.
Midtjylland vs Rangers: Betting Tips
Given that “under 2.5 goals” pays just 1.62, for more, I would risk with “under 1.5”, at 2.80.
