Mlada Boleslav vs FCSB
Competition: UEFA Europa League
Date: 15 August 2019
Kick-off: 19:00 CET
Mlada Boleslav’s double chance, at 1.83, was the only tip here last weekend, explaining why I didn’t trust favorites FCSB to win. The Czechs earned a goalless draw, a tricky result, as they failed to score away from home. There is no doubt they should be satisfied though, as FCSB looked more threatening practically throughout the game. Attempts were 20-11 for the Romanians, the on target ones were 8-2 for them, there was a considerable difference even in the corners won (9-3 for FCSB), all numbers that show how Mlada Boleslav got pressured, but still managed to keep a clean sheet. On Sunday they played their part in producing a game that will be remembered for years by their fans, a 4-3 win over Sparta Prague. Mlada Boleslav had to take the lead four times to win the game, the last one in added time.
They can’t catch a break, but they’ve got no one to blame for that but themselves… After Bogdan Andone’s departure, FCSB boss Gigi Becali gave the job to Vergil Andronache, realizing that hiring a “top” coach under today’s conditions at the club would be… practically impossible. That goalless draw at home last week has kept them alive in the fight for a ticket to the Europa League playoffs, numbers show they actually deserved better, but after making half a step forward against Mlada Boleslav, they made two backwards over the weekend, losing 1-3 to Voluntari(!). It feels… surreal, but FCSB have now lost three games in a row in their championship, and are on just four points from five matches. Becali told reporters more signings are about to be announced any day now, but if they fail in Czechia, the cloud over them will only get even darker, and those advertised signings will only be good in their domestic competitions.

Mlada Boleslav vs FCSB: Betting Tips
Last week, I suggested Mlada Boleslav’s double chance in Romania. Logic says that they’ll beat this super troubled FCSB at home, but my top choice in this game is about goals; “under 2.5” pays 1.93, which I prefer to Mlada Boleslav’s win at 1.85. I have to admit, despite the Romanians’… pitiful situation (four defeats and a draw in their last five games in all competitions), I have a hunch that in this game they’ll somehow… sort things out, and actually qualify(!).
