MOL Vidi vs Malmo
Competition: UEFA Champions League
Date: 14 August 2018
Kick-off: 20:00 CET
MOL Vidi were considered practically doomed last week in Sweden, their double chance was at 2.62(!), but for some reason I backed them to earn at least a draw, and they did, 1-1. “Under 2.5 goals” (1.70) was my other tip, which came good as well. They went 1-0 down in the 62nd minute, but answered back in the 71st, leaving Sweden with a precious draw, draw with goals. Interestingly, last weekend, they needed an added-time goal to avoid defeat at home, against Debrecen. The winner of this tie will face Celtic or AEK Athens in the Champions League playoffs. The loser will play against TNS or Midtjylland in the Europa League playoffs.
Malmo finished last week’s first leg on 13 attempts (MOL Vidi had only five), six of those on target (the Hungarians had only two). All in all though, their… dominance on the pitch was not resounding. Remember, in the previous qualifying round, they “only” drew 1-1 with CFR Cluj at home. They had won 0-1 in Romania, they didn’t need to win at home, but the fact that they didn’t (and actually came close to getting eliminated), “says” something. Honestly, I was surprised to see them be considered that big favorites last week. Favorites, yes. THAT big favorites, no. On Friday they beat Dalkurd 1-0 away from home, in their championship.

MOL Vidi vs Malmo: Head to head Stats

MOL Vidi vs Malmo: Prediction
Malmo are considered favorites to win the game. Fine by me, because I’m backing the hosts to earn at least a draw. I won’t be surprised if the tie goes to extra-time, though.
MOL Vidi vs Malmo: Betting Tips
MOL Vidi’s win in “draw no bet” is at 2.10, and their double chance at 1.53. “Under 2.5 goals” is not paying more than 1.61. Malmo’s “under 1.5” is at 1.50. The last three are low, but very-very probable, I (and the bookies) reckon.
