North Macedonia vs Austria
Competition: Euro 2020 qualifiers
Date: 10 June 2019
Kick-off: 20:45 CET
The hosts saw their chances of finishing in the top two receive a big blow on Friday, losing 0-1 to Poland at home. They are on four points from three matches in the group, but they have already played twice at home, and their only win was over weak Latvia. They had six wins in a row at home, but most over weak rivals (with the exception of Norway). Igor Angelovski, their coach, was left gutted on Friday, avoiding answering when asked if Poland’s win was fair. He mumbled something about Poland not having created real chances, but at the end of the day, his team failed to scored. They had scored 19 goals in their previous six matches at home, but I repeat, excluding the two over Norway, the other goals were scored against… Liechtenstein, Gibraltar, Latvia and Armenia.
What a difference a goal makes… Seventy-four minutes into last Friday’s game between Austria and Slovenia, Franco Foda’s team were… flirting, unwillingly, with early elimination. After losing their first two group matches, they simply could not afford not to beat Slovenia. Guido Burgstaller scored, the Austrians protected that slim lead, won 1-0, earned their first three points in the group, and kept the dream of finishing in the top two alive. They are sitting no higher than fourth in the table, four points behind second-placed Israel, but things would be very-very worse if Burgstaller had not scored that goal on Friday. Franco Foda, their coach, looked confident that they will win their second game in a row, and that come September, things in the group will look very-very different to today.

North Macedonia vs Austria: Prediction
I expect Austria to build on that 1-0 over Slovenia, win the game, and become serious candidates to finish in the group’s top two.
North Macedonia vs Austria: Betting Tips
Austria’s win pays 2.05. I’m staying with that, as this is a game I can see end anything from 0-1 to 1-3.
