Nurnberg vs Bayer Leverkusen
Competition: Germany Bundesliga
Date: 3 December 2018
Kick-off: 20:30 CET
Nurnberg gave their all at Schalke last weekend, in the 84th minute they were 3-2 down playing with 10 men, but two more Schalke goals in the dying minutes of the match left Michael Köllner’s team with a heavy 5-2 score. Nurnberg lost the game, lost their regular goalkeeper, Christian Mathenia, who got injured, lost Robert Bauer as well, their right-back who got sent-off in the 67th minute (second yellow card; he had seen the first one less than 60 seconds into the match!). Bredlow, Ewerton, Margreitter, Mühl, Leibold, Palacios, Petrak, Behrens, Rhein, Kubo and Ishak, these should be the first 11. Nurnberg are 16th in the Bundesliga table, on 10 points from 12 matches. Eight of those 10 points have been earned at home.
Heiko Herrlich chose to rest some of his regulars on Thursday, when Bayer Leverkusen hosted Ludogorets in the Europa League. No Kevin Volland, no Karim Bellarabi, no Jonathan Tah either, plus, Kai Havertz was sent in only with 15 minutes to play. They drew 1-1, they have already qualified for the last-32 of the competition, with one match left. Bad news for Leverkusen was that young center-back Panagiotis Retsos got injured again(!), right after returning from injury(!). Hradecky, L. Bender, Tah, S. Bender, Jedvaj, Baumgartlinger, Aranguiz, Bellarabi, Havertz, Brandt and Volland, this should be Bayer’s starting lineup. They are 12 in the table, on 14 points from 12 matches. They have two wins, one draw, and three defeats away from home thus far in this Bundesliga campaign.

Nurnberg vs Bayer Leverkusen: Head to head Stats
Leverkusen haven’t visited Nurnberg since 2014. Back then, they triumphed 1-4. It was their third win in a row there.
Nurnberg vs Bayer Leverkusen: Prediction
Away from home, this season, Leverkusen have looked capable of the best and the worst. They are considered favorites to win, but I wouldn’t bet on that. I prefer focusing on goals.
Nurnberg vs Bayer Leverkusen: Betting Tips
“Over 2.5 goals and both teams to score” pays 1.90. Pushing it, “over 3.5” is at 2.62. No Bundesliga team have conceded more goals than Nurnberg (29 in 12 matches!), and Leverkusen definitely have the players to take advantage of their rivals’ defensive weaknesses.
