Nurnberg vs Stuttgart
Competition: Germany Bundesliga
Date: 10 November 2018
Kick-off: 15:30 CET
Nurnberg are hosting one of the only three teams they have below them in the table, making this a six-point game. Last weekend they went down twice at Augsburg, 1-0 and 2-1, but Lukas Mühl’s goal in the 88th minute salvaged a precious point for them, their second draw in a row, after that 1-1 at home versus Eintracht Frankfurt. Striker Mikael Ishak remains out, a blow to Nurnberg, whose roster is not exactly… brimming with top choices. In other words, every time a key player is out, he is really missed. Michael Köllner is expected to have Mathenia, Bauer, Margreitter, Mühl, Leibold, Misidjan, Fuchs, Petrak, Behrens, Kerk and Zrelak in the starting lineup. Other than Ishak, left-back Dennis Lippert, defensive midfielder Eduard Löwen, and right-back Enrico Valentini, are also injured and unavailable. It’s worth noting that eight out of Nurnberg’s 10 points in the Bundesliga have been earned at home. They have two wins, two draws, and just one defeat (to Hoffenheim) there.
When Markus Weinzierl replaced Tayfun Korkut, there was hope at Stuttgart that things would get much better very quickly; they didn’t. They are at the bottom of the table, on just five points from 10 matches, and especially the last weeks have been particularly… painful. Embarrassment at home last weekend against Eintracht Frankfurt (0-3), defeat at Hoffenheim (4-0) with the hands down before that, 0-4 at home to Borussia Dortmund losing 0-3 less than half an hour into the game, and, going further back, 3-1 defeat at Hannover, again losing 2-0 at halftime. They just seem unable to… catch a break. The fact that they have half a dozen players out, injured, is obviously making things even harder. Didavi, Donis, Kliment, Meyer, Sosa, all five are out, injured. Plus, Insua is suspended. Weinzierl is expected to have Zieler, Baumgartl, Badstuber, Pavard, Maffeo, Gentner, Ascacibar, Aogo, Thommy, Gonzalez and Gomez in the starting lineup, with a question mark next to Gomez’s name, due to a not serious, but still… annoying injury problem.

Nurnberg vs Stuttgart: Head to head Stats
Two wins for Nurnberg, two for Stuttgart as well, and a draw, in the last five games between these two in Nuremberg.
Nurnberg vs Stuttgart: Prediction
The hosts are considered slight favorites to win. I’m playing along, mostly because I don’t trust Stuttgart to avoid yet another defeat.
Nurnberg vs Stuttgart: Betting Tips
Nurnberg’s win is at 2.40. Combined with “over 2.5 goals” it pays 3.75. “Over 2.5” alone is at 1.90. Stuttgart have conceded a ridiculous amount of goals lately, and Nurnberg’s games have had several goals as well.
