OFI Crete vs Panionios
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 12 January 2019
Kick-off: 18:30 CET
OFI Crete visited neighbors Ergotelis midweek, in the first leg of their Greece Cup round of 16 tie, and earned a 1-1 draw, which gives them an advantage ahead of the return leg. Ergotelis are a Football League (second division) team, so OFI wanted to finish the job off in the first game, but… even that 1-1 was a positive result, thanks to their away goal. Training was a problem these last days, because of the weather conditions. Twice they had to “train” playing basketball indoors, as it was simply impossible to work in their training ground, and using the field of their stadium would only deteriorate its condition ahead of this match. OFI are just 13th in the table, on 11 points from 14 matches.
Just like OFI, Panionios earned a 1-1 draw midweek, away from home, in their first leg of the Cup tie with PAS Giannina. After the game, Akis Mantzios, Panionios’ coach, told reporters that certain players are behaving improperly(!), and that this way they are creating problems to the team, to the whole club. One of them was defensive midfielder Abdoulaye Keita, who, just a couple of days ago, apologized to the club, and subsequently was allowed to train with the rest of the squad. Panionios earned just one point from their last three Super League games in 2018. They are sitting 10th in the table, on 18 points.

OFI Crete vs Panionios: Head to head Stats
Two wins for OFI, two for Panionios as well, and a draw, in the last five games between these two in Crete.
OFI Crete vs Panionios: Prediction
I wouldn’t bet on this match. OFI are considered favorites, but I don’t trust them. Similarly, I have very little faith in Panionios as well. There are two more Super League games on Saturday, much better matches to bet on.
OFI Crete vs Panionios: Betting Tips
If I absolutely had to bet on something in this game, I would go for OFI’s double chance combined with “under 2.5 goals”, at 1.91, which covers all three results I have in mind, 0-0, 1-1, 1-0.
