OFI vs Apollon Smyrnis
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 4 November 2018
Kick-off: 18:30 CET
Friday’s training session had good news for Nikos Papadopoulos; OFI’s coach saw both attacking midfielder Juan Neira and center-forward Patrick Vouho train properly (they had been dealing with injury problems), and can count on both this weekend. Defensive midfielders Manolis Papasterianos and Miguel Mellado are out, having trained separately from the group all week. OFI earned a goalless draw at AEL Larissa last weekend, won a Cup match midweek, have stayed undefeated in their last four games, Super League and Cup combined, and of course, they beat Olympiakos at home two weeks ago, their biggest result thus far this season. Six points from eight matches in the championship are not many, but five of those have been earned the last three weeks, so things have definitely improved for them lately.
Apollon Smyrnis came super close to earning their first point last weekend at Olympiakos. They lost 1-0, conceding in added time. What left them furious was what happened about 10 minutes earlier; a player of theirs had an awesome chance to leave alone on a counterattack, but the assistant referee raised his flag for offside, despite the fact that Apollon’s player, the moment he was passed the ball, was still in HIS half of the field, not in Olympiakos’ half. Unbelievable mistake by the assistant referee, who won’t be assigned in another game any time soon. Midweek, Apollon beat a team from a lower division in the Cup, their first win in an official match since the start of the season(!). As previously mentioned, they are still without a point in the Super League.

OFI vs Apollon Smyrnis: Head to head Stats
Three OFI wins and a draw, in the four games between these two in Crete the last six years.
OFI vs Apollon Smyrnis: Prediction
Apollon can’t go on losing every weekend, but this specific one, I seriously doubt they’ll get anything out of their trip to Crete.
OFI vs Apollon Smyrnis: Betting Tips
OFI’s win is at 1.65. They have looked solid defensively lately, so for more than that, I would risk with “OFI to win and keep a clean sheet”, at 2.40. OFI’s clean sheet alone pays 1.83.
