OFI vs Aris
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 25 November 2018
Kick-off: 18:30 CET
That 2-1 defeat at Levadiakos just before the international break was definitely a step back for OFI. They had stayed undefeated in four matches, five if we include a Greece Cup game, but as their coach told reporters after their defeat in Livadia, their finishes were not the best possible, depriving them of a second goal. Defensive midfielder Manolis Papasterianos, attacking midfielder Juan Neira, and attacking midfielder Thanasis Dinas, all three remain out, still recovering from injuries. Twenty-four hours before kick-off it was still unclear if Nikos Papadopoulos could count on defensive midfielder Miguel Mellado and center-back Marko Mihojevic. OFI are on seven points, 13th in the Super League table.
Aris have a new coach; Savvas Pantelidis left Asteras Tripolis, and practically the same day he was announced by the Thessaloniki side. In his first Press conference after signing his contract, he told reporters that Aris have a “roster with many quality players”, as if agreeing with the club president that the team must challenge for a Europa League ticket, despite the fact that they just returned to the Super League after years in lower divisions. Just before the international break, Aris beat Apollon Smyrnis 1-2 away from home, their first positive result after four consecutive defeats. Aris are 7th in the table, on 15 points from 10 matches. It’s interesting that they are the only Super League team that haven’t drawn yet; five wins, as many defeats, no draw.

OFI vs Aris: Head to head Stats
Three wins for OFI, one for Aris (back in 2011), and a draw, in the last five games between these two in Crete.
OFI vs Aris: Prediction
Bookies give Aris a slight advantage to win the game, but I trust the hosts to earn at least a draw.
OFI vs Aris: Betting Tips
OFI’s win in “draw no bet” is at 1.83, and their double chance at 1.50. “Under 1.5” pays 2.37, and suits my hunch that if there is a goal in the match, it will come from OFI, and won’t be followed by a second one.
