Olympiakos Piraeus vs Aris
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 10 March 2019
Kick-off: 18:30 CET
Pedro Martis, Olympiakos’ coach, told reporters after last weekend’s 0-2 win at Apollon Smyrnis that “the target is 21 points in the remaining seven matches”, adding that in football anything can happen, referring to the seven-point gap between his team and leaders PAOK. Olympiakos are out of the Europa League, out of the Cup in Greece, within anything but “striking” distance from PAOK, so… they need to keep telling themselves that not everything is lost, or else the last few weeks of the season would be pointless. They have several problems with injured players, and especially the right-back position looks… haunted, as not just one or two, but four(!) players who could cover that spot are out, injured. Its worth mentioning that captain Kostas Fortounis went for therapy to the training ground on Monday, on his day off, hoping he would be ready in time to play against Aris.
Aris looked exactly the way I expected them last weekend, gutsy-gutsy-gutsy, determined to beat AEK in Thessaloniki, and they did, 2-0, boosting their chances of finishing 5th. The Greece Cup draw took place on Friday, PAOK will be facing Asteras Tripolis in the semifinals, AEK vs Lamia is the other pair, and if both PAOK and AEK qualify for the final, then even the 5th team in the Super League table will earn a Europa League ticket. Aris are undefeated in their last six games, peaking right when most needed, towards the end of the season. They have conceded just two goals in their last five away games, and one of those was in their 1-1 draw at PAOK, two weeks ago. Winger Nicolas Diguiny is out due to cards.

Olympiakos are considered huge favorites to win the game. I prefer betting on goals instead.
Olympiakos Piraeus vs Aris: Betting Tips
“Under 2.5 goals” is at 2.08, which I like, expecting Aris to look as… robust defensively as two weeks ago at PAOK (they drew 1-1).
