Olympiakos vs Kerkyra
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 16 April 2018
Kick-off: 18:30 CET
Olympiakos keep getting given “gifts”, and they keep wasting them. First, they beat PAOK 0-3 in papers, a game they didn’t have to play. Then, PAOK saw three points being deducted from them, which pushed Olympiakos second in the table. Incredibly, they have been so ridiculous this season that they even “managed” to draw, only draw, at Levadiakos two weeks ago, seeing PAOK overtake them in the table. The second spot gives a Champions League qualifiers ticket, but only the most… die-hard Olympiakos fans would say that they deserve to finish in the top 2. On another note, the Piraeus side have a new coach, Portuguese Pedro Martins, who, apparently, has been given the “go-ahead” to change A LOT the coming summer. Attacking midfielder Panayotis Tachtsidis got injured in training and is unavailable.
Kerkyra have lost just one of their last six Super League matches, but, on the other hand, they haven’t won more than one. Three consecutive draws have kept them second-to-last in the table, four points behind Apollon Smyrnis and Lamia. These lines were written before Saturday’s game between Apollon and Lamia, which was expected to end in a draw. If, IF that game had a winner, then Kerkyra have received a kiss of life. The challenge to beat Olympiakos is… enormous, but… miracles happen, especially against teams with very low morale, like Olympiakos these days. Actually, last season they earned a goalless draw in Piraeus, a result they can “use” as a boost to go out and just… give it a shot. On another note, the club have been paying players off these last days, a prerequisite to be given license to compete in the Super League next season, IF they managed to avoid the last two spots of the table with their results on the pitch.

Olympiakos vs Kerkyra: Prediction
Up until 24 hours before kick-off, few companies had published their odds on this game. Olympiakos are the obvious favourites, but… weird things happen in Greece the last game weeks every season, so… all things considered, I would leave this game aside.
Olympiakos vs Kerkyra: Betting Tips
Kerkyra’s double chance is at around 2.60, and would be my… fun choice if I decided to bet on this game. As previously mentioned though, I would leave this one aside.
