Palestino vs Internacional
Competition: Copa Libertadores
Date: 6 March 2019
Kick-off: 23:15 CET
Modest Palestino deserve a lot of credit for reaching the group stage. They had to go through not just one, but two qualifying rounds, and play not against teams from… Venezuela and Bolivia, but Colombia and Argentina. They eliminated Independiente Medellín on penalties, after two 1-1 draws, and last week they kick out Talleres as well, beating them 2-1 at home, having drawn 2-2 in Córdoba. Three draws, one victory, two qualifications, no loss, not much more they could have done thus far. On Saturday they lost 1-0 at Unión Española, conceding early in the second half. They are on three points from as many games at the start of their new championship season, having – for good reason – prioritized their Libertadores qualifiers.
Internacional were “newly-promoted” last season in Brazil’s top division, but they played like… Internacional (one of the biggest names in the country and the whole of South America actually, without doubt), and ended up finishing third, earning a direct ticket to the Copa Libertadores group stage. Actually, in most of the season, they were among the leaders, or even leading themselves, and we’ll never know what would have happened if Palmeiras hadn’t fired Róger Machado and hired Luiz Felipe Scolari as their coach, something that totally-totally transformed their season. Odair Hellmann, Inter’s coach, told reporters his priority in Santiago will be to win the centre of the pitch, “destroying” Palestino’s offensive game. The Porto Alegre side are expected to start with Marcelo Lomba, Zeca, Rodrigo Moledo, Víctor Cuesta, Iago, Rodrigo Dourado, Edenílson, Patrick (or Nonato), Nico López, William Pottker and Pedro Lucas (or Rafael Sobis). They have won their last four matches in their State championship.

Palestino vs Internacional: Head to head Stats
No history between these two.
Palestino vs Internacional: Prediction
Inter are not Independiente Medellín, are not Talleres. Anything can happen in a football match, but I really like their chances of leaving Santiago with all three points.
Palestino vs Internacional: Betting Tips
Inter’s win pays 2.22. A more reserved approach would be betting on their double chance combined with “under 2.5 goals”, at 1.97.
