Panathinaikos vs Atromitos
Competition: Greek Super League
Date: 23 April 2017
Kick-off: 18:00 CET
There was bad news at Panathinaikos this last week, as left winger Sebastian Leto got suspended for two games, for spitting at an AEK opponent at the end of the two teams’ game three weeks ago. His absence against Atromitos is not a huge blow, but he will also miss the return leg of the Cup semifinal against PAOK in Thessaloniki, which is definitely bad news for the “Greens”. Coach Ouzounidis cannot count on centre-back Moledo, attacking midfielder Villafanez and defensive midfielder Reis, who are also suspended, but his biggest problem may prove to be Berg. The Swedish striker who has been in spectacular form almost throughout the entire season, missed Friday’s training due to stomach problems, and his presence against Atromitos is a big doubt.
Atromitos had a good run of positive results right after coach Sa Pinto took charge, but against four top five teams they had four defeats, something that kind of… spoiled the atmosphere at the team, even though all those defeats had to be expected. Just before the break, their goalless draw at home against lowly Larissa didn’t help make things any better. Atromitos will be without French centre-forward Le Tallec due to suspension, further limiting their chances to earn at least a draw at Panathinaikos. Left winger Limnios missed a couple of training sessions at the end of the week, and his presence in the game is a doubt.

Panathinaikos should win. Any other result would be one of the biggest surprises of the season in the Greek Super League.
Panathinaikos vs Atromitos: Tips
Betting on Panathinaikos to win pays a small 1.36. A win of theirs with a clean sheet pays better. The hosts have been amazing offensively for weeks (more like months) now, so backing them to score at least twice makes good sense. In every single game I’ve been betting on Berg to score, most of the times he has delivered, but his presence in this game is a doubt, and even if he plays, it’s dubious he will be at his best, after the stomach flu that kept him out of a couple of training sessions, so… no Berg bet this week.
