Panathinaikos vs Lamia
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 24 February 2018
Kick-off: 18:30 CET
Another… typical week for Panathinaikos this season. Last weekend they beat AEL Larissa 1-0 away from home, and then spent the following days trying to figure out how to deal with the debts they have to players, former and current, how to handle legal cases against them, and even how to minimize the club costs in general. Six people working at the club offices were laid off, including the two people working in the club’s media office. The situation is that dire at Panathinaikos, financially, that even the media office has been left unmanned (someone has been named in charge, but he has nothing to do with the job). Panathinaikos are 9th in the table, four points behind 5th-placed Panionios, Coach Ouzounidis keep lowering the bar when he talks in public, but his players are not hiding that they are still hopeful of finishing fifth, a position that may give a Europa League ticket.
Considering that they were hosting leaders PAOK, Lamia looked decent last weekend at home, losing 2-0, but I repeat, looking decent. The difference in the quality between the two teams was obvious, but even so, Lamia managed to go to the dressing room at halftime drawing 0-0. Two quick goals for PAOK in the second half put the game to bed. Lamia missed a huge double chance in added time to score a goal. It wouldn’t have changed anything, but it would have been… something, as PAOK have hardly conceded this season (just 8 goals in 22 matches). Lamia are visiting Panathinaikos without four players, all of whom are usually (if not always) in the starting lineup if available. Three are injured, and one, Wanderson, is paying for the… lack of discipline he demonstrated a few days ago.

Panathinaikos vs Lamia: Betting Tips
A simple Panathinaikos win pays just 1.40. Combined with “under 2.5 goals” it goes up to a great 2.75. “Under 2.5 goals” alone is at 1.61, not fantastic, but super probable, given that this is a Lamia game. Only one of their last 15 Super League games had more than two goals.
