Panathinaikos vs OFI Crete
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 14 April 2019
Kick-off: 18:00 CET
Panathinaikos’ 2-0 over Aris last weekend, in front of empty stands at home (they are banned), was a big… “what if”. “What if” they had not started the season carrying a -6 penalty from last year, “what if” they had been allowed to sign more new players last summer, “what if” they didn’t have that UEFA ban over their head, not allowing them to play Europa League football even if they earned a ticket on the field, what if, what if… The Greens are sitting 6th in the table, no matter if they have earned more points that 5th-placed Aris. They are still waiting to find out what will happen with their abandoned game against Olympiakos. No matter what, they have already turned their attention to next year, admitting that they need to sell at least one player, in order to cope financially with their obligations.
OFI are the only team among those sitting in the bottom seven that won last weekend, boosting their chances of avoiding relegation. They remain below the red line, on 25 points, but 13th-placed PAS Giannina are now just one point ahead of them, and Asteras Tripolis are three points above them. Having written all that, OFI are still waiting to find out their… fate in the court. They hope that the initial decision of having them relegated because of something that happened last season, will be changed. Until then, they keep hoping, fighting, even though they have to deal with new injury problems almost on a weekly basis.

Panathinaikos vs OFI Crete: Head to head Stats
OFI beat Panathinaikos in Athens in 2014, last time they visited them. Before that, that hosts had six wins in a row over the Crete side at home.
Panathinaikos vs OFI Crete: Prediction
OFI have earned just one point from their last five away matches, and that was at Apollon. On the other hand, the four defeats were against top five teams. All things considered, I don’t believe in their surprise in Athens.
Panathinaikos vs OFI Crete: Betting Tips
