PAOK vs Atromitos
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 10 March 2019
Kick-off: 16:15 CET
Once again, last weekend, PAOK proved they are the best team in Greece this season, beating Panathinaikos 0-2 in Athens, making things look rather easy, staying unaffected even after getting reduced to 10 men in the 71st minute. Brazilian winger Léo Jabá, who had scored PAOK’s second goal in the 47th minute, committed a dangerous foul (without knowing where his opponent was), and was shown a direct red card. That was PAOK’s 20th victory in 23 Super League matches this season, with the other three games having ended in a draw. They are seven points ahead of second-placed Olympiakos (actually nine, but they started the season carrying a two-point penalty from last year), they have scored more goals than any other team, conceded less than any other, and are well on their way to winning the first championship title the club will celebrate in 34 years(!). Coach Razvan Lucescu denied rumours he is in talks with Besiktas, saying that before deciding on his future, he will talk to PAOK’s main shareholder, Ivan Savvidis, first.
Atromitos beat Panionios 3-0 at home last weekend, they took perfect advantage of AEK’s defeat to Aris to “catch” them on 43 points, they are actually third, above AEK, because they have the advantage in their head-to-head games, but their mission this weekend is super tough, not only because they are facing the best team in the country away from home, but also because they have several important players missing. Centre-back Dimitris Chatziisaias is out due to cards, but either way he wouldn’t play, because he’s at Atromitos on loan from PAOK, and there is an agreement between the two clubs so that the loaned out players stay out of the games between these two. Centre-forward Efthymis Koulouris is a similar case (leading scorer in the Super League, on 16 goals). Egyptian attacking midfielder Amr Warda is yet another case, but either way he remains sidelined, banned by Atromitos, for things he did after their Cup game against AEK. Atromitos also have players injured, four, and at least three of them would be starting if available.

PAOK vs Atromitos: Head to head Stats
Two wins for PAOK (in the two most recent games), two for Atromitos as well, and a draw, in the last five games between these two in Thessaloniki.
PAOK vs Atromitos: Prediction
Any other result but a PAOK win will be a massive surprise, no matter if Atromitos are third in the table.
PAOK vs Atromitos: Betting Tips
Given that a simple PAOK win pays less than 1.40, I would combine it with “over 2.5 goals”, at 2.25 (unless you find 1.67, “PAOK and over 1.5”, enough).
