PAOK vs OFI Crete
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 27 January 2019
Kick-off: 16:15 CET
That was a surprise… This past week, it was taken practically for granted that 28-year-old Moroccan attacking midfielder Omar El Kaddouri would leave Thessaloniki and move to Parma, Italy, tempted by the prospect of playing football in a country where he already shined with Napoli, plus, he would be super close to where his family live. Friday afternoon/night, he met with Ivan Savvidis, PAOK’s main shareholder, and right after their talk, it was made known that the Moroccan had been convinced to stay, and Parma were dropping the negotiations with the Greek club. El Kaddouri hasn’t really played in his normal position all this time he’s spent at PAOK, the overall feeling is that he is offering less than what his contract (one million euros per year) justifies, but… the coach wanted him to stay, and somehow he got convinced to do just that. Midweek, PAOK beat Panachaiki 5-0, to reach the Cup quarterfinals. They remain leaders, undefeated, in the Super League, having dropped just two points all season.
Incredible things happened for OFI to get eliminated in the Cup this past week. They went 0-1 down hosting Ergotelis, equalized 1-1 from the penalty spot (1-1 was the score in the first leg as well), and in the second half OFI missed not one, but TWO more penalties! The tie went to extra-time, no goal there, and then to penalties, where Ergotelis’ goalkeeper did a good job, kicking OFI out of the competition. It should be mentioned that OFI played with 10 men for a good part of the match, as one of their players was stupid enough to commit a ridiculously careless and violent foul that left the referee no margin of… leniency. Good news for OFI is that they have a new coach, Jaime Vera, a Chilean who played for the team more than 20 years ago. His assistant will be Alejandro Isis, another Chilean who is very much loved by OFI’s fans, having played there the same era Vera was in Crete.

PAOK vs OFI Crete: Betting Tips
“Over 2.5 goals” is at 1.70, my – modest – main tip. Combined with PAOK’s win, that goes up to 1.75. “PAOK and over 3.5 goals” pays 2.90.
