PAOK vs Xanthi
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 24 November 2018
Kick-off: 18:30 CET
Nine wins and a draw in 10 matches, more goals scored than any other team in the Super League (to be exact, AEK have scored as many), less goals conceded than any other team in the league, first in the table, undefeated, it’s hard for anyone to claim that PAOK haven’t been the best team in the country these last months. What… hurts them, is their hard to believe failure in the Europa League, where two defeats in a row to MOL Vidi(!) have left them practically eliminated. In the Super League though, they rule. Two weeks ago, they beat Panetolikos 2-1 at home. Truth is, they did the same thing they had done in previous games, they looked… annoyingly complacent after taking the lead, and could have gotten equalized in the dying minutes of the match. At home, they have five wins in as many games in the Super League, by a total score of 9-1, and those five wins include a 2-0 over reigning champions AEK, and another 2-0 over very competitive, this season, Panathinaikos.
What a letdown that home game to Panionios was for Xanthi two weeks ago. They had the chance to climb up third in the table, they had won five games in a row, were hosting a rather… problematic team, but they lost, 0-1, and not just that, but center-back Dinis Almeida got sent-off, and is obviously unavailable this weekend. He’s not the only one missing; left-back Salimo Sylla, defensive midfielder Pablo de Lucas, winger Jeffrey Sarpong, another winger, Brito, and a third winger, Vasilis Fasidis, all five are injured. Under these circumstances, and visiting a team like PAOK, Xanthi’s mission to earn something in Toumba feels… close to impossible.

PAOK vs Xanthi: Prediction
The Super League leaders are hosting the team sitting fourth in the table, fourth, not 14th, and the hosts’ win is at 1.20(…).
PAOK vs Xanthi: Betting Tips
“Over 2.5 goals” is at 1.80, going up to 1.90 if combined with PAOK’s win. I expect the hosts to play their best game in a month, since that 2-0 over Panathinaikos at home.
