Parana vs Cruzeiro
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 14 June 2018
Kick-off: 00:30 CET
Despite losing 2-0 to Flamengo last weekend, Paraná coach Rogério Micale was left very satisfied, saying after the game that right now, his team have what it takes to face anyone in the Série A, and look competitive. Truth is, the Curitiba side put on a decent performance in Maracana, playing against the Série A leaders. Defensive midfielder Leandro Vilela is back and expected to start the game. Paraná are on nine points from 11 matches, second-to-last in the table, but have won the last two games at home, back-to-back, over Fluminense and Bahia. Before that, they had drawn with Gremio and Atlético Paranaense, meaning that eight out of their nine points have been earned at home.
Cruzeiro played their worst game in weeks and weeks, in a month and a half actually, losing 2-0 at Chapecoense last weekend. It was hard to… recognize them, see in them the team that had won nine of their previous 12 matches, losing only once, to city rivals Atlético Mineiro. Coach Mano Menezes admitted that his team didn’t deserve a point in Chapecó, despite the fact that both goals came in the dying minutes of the match, and Chape’s first could have been a handball (not even the TV replays made it crystal clear). He also admitted that several of his players are very tired, and that he’s looking forward to the World Cup finals break, so that the team can… regroup. They are on 17 points from 11 matches.

Parana vs Cruzeiro: Head to head Stats
Paraná haven’t hosted Cruzeiro since 2007. That Série A game ended in a 2-2 draw.
Parana vs Cruzeiro: Prediction
Cruzeiro are considered relatively clear favorites to win the game, but after looking the way they looked in Chapecó last weekend, and keeping in mind that Paraná actually won their last two games at home, I feel it’s worth backing the hosts to earn at least a point.
Parana vs Cruzeiro: Betting Tips
Paraná’s win in “draw no bet” is at 2.62. Their double chance pays a decent 1.80. Combining the two teams’ last nine matches (five of Cruzeiro and four of Paraná), only one had more than two goals. No wonder “under 2.5” pays only 1.47. At 2.37, “under 1.5”, in this specific game, feels worth the risk.
