PAS Giannina vs AEK Athens
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 14 January 2019
Kick-off: 18:30 CET
PAS Giannina drew 1-1 at home with Panionios last Tuesday, in the first leg of their Greece Cup round of 16 tie with the Nea Smirni side. They took the lead early, but got equalized very quickly, and failed to score again. They’ll travel to Panionios’ home having a disadvantage, obliged to search for at least one goal. PAS are 12th in the Super League table, on 14 points from as many matches. Eleven out of those 14 points have been earned at home. It should be mentioned that out of their 14 Super League games thus far, only six were as hosts. In other words, they know that their schedule in the second round will be more favorable than that in the first round, something they can… step on to climb up the ladder.
AEK Athens would have preferred avoiding that added-time goal last Wednesday, when they visited Football League (second division) side Kissamikos in the Greece Cup round of 16 (first leg), but even that 1-1 draw they earned as visitors gave them an advantage ahead of the return leg. In the Super League, they are just fourth, 14 whole points behind leaders PAOK. A couple of days ago, Tasos Bakasetas signed a new multi-year contract, despite the fact that up until a couple of weeks ago he looked set to leave the club. He was super important last season, when they won the championship title, but this season his role at the team has been diminished, and there were rumors that there were issues with his overall attitude. Things changed, and AEK decided to offer him a new contract, which he accepted.

PAS Giannina vs AEK Athens: Prediction
AEK are considered clear favorites to win the game, but PAS have lost just one Super League game at home since the start of the season, and I doubt they’ll lose this one.
PAS Giannina vs AEK Athens: Betting Tips
The hosts’ double chance pays 1.97, which I find satisfying enough to avoid risking further with number of goals.
