Patronato vs Atletico Tucuman
Competition: Argentina Superliga
Date: 4 February 2019
Kick-off: 23:00 CET
I doubt Gabriel Ávalos got any sleep last Sunday, the night after Patronato’s 1-3 triumph at Monumental over Copa Libertadores titleholders River Plate. The 28-year-old Paraguayan scored all three goals for his team(!), on his debut(!), before getting substituted halfway through the second half. I wonder what Godoy Cruz’s people felt watching him score one goal after another in Buenos Aires… The Paraguayan spent the first half of the season in Mendoza, played something like 180 minutes in 10 matches, coming on as a late substitute in nine of those games, and scored two goals. My guess is, Godoy Cruz’s people were wondering “is this the same guy who spent five months with us?” That was Patronato’s third, just third win of the season, first away from home. They sit 23rd in the “promedio” table, below the relegation line.
Atlético Tucumán started their… after-Luis Rodríguez life hosting Gimnasia La Plata last weekend. Did they cope without their iconic figure, the man who led their attack the last 11 years? You bet they did… They didn’t just beat Gimnasia, they threw a party, finishing the game at 4-1. Two of those goals came from the penalty spot, but don’t be misled, Atlético were made no favours, they deserved the win, they were by far the better team on the pitch for 90 minutes. They sit third in the table, on 31 points, strong candidates for a top four finish, and… who knows, crazy things happen occasionally, a combination of results these next weeks could see them fight for the title itself(!).

One win for Patronato (in the most recent game), one for Atlético Tucumán as well (back in 2013), and three draws (in between), in the last five games between these two in Paraná.
Patronato vs Atletico Tucuman: Prediction
I do have some doubts regarding Atlético Tucumán’s chances of winning the game, but seeing how well their victory pays, I’m willing to leave my reservations aside.

Atlético Tucumán’s win is at 2.50. A more… conservative approach would be betting on their double chance combined with “over 1.5”, at 2.05.
