Patronato vs Gimnasia La Plata
Competition: Argentina Superliga
Date: 16 September 2018
Kick-off: 16:00 CET
Patronato are in trouble; they picked up just one point in their first four Superliga matches, they are at the bottom of the table, and not just that, but they are yet to score(!), four game weeks into the season. Just before the international break they lost 1-0 at Banfield, looking very-very weak, both defensively and offensively. Actually, they were lucky to “escape” with such a narrow defeat, and not a bigger score. They played two friendly games these last 10 days, against a city rival, looking… decent, leaving good impressions. They need to shape up as soon as possible, because the Superliga lasts only 25 game weeks, meaning that after this game, 20% of the season will already be gone, and they are below the relegation line.
Gimnasia La Plata started the season with a 1-0 home win over Argentinos Juniors, but ever since then, they have earned just one point in three matches. Just before the break, they managed a draw at San Martín Tucumán. Good news for them is that Jan Hurtado, an 18-year-old center forward from Venezuela, can finally play for them. He arrived at Gimnasia a month ago, but his former club, Deportivo Táchira, asked for money, claiming that he still had a valid contract with them. Gimnasia took the case to FIFA, had to wait a few weeks, but just a few days ago they were informed that they are free to field the teenager, who played in the U20 World Cup last year for his country (Venezuela reached the final, lost to England).

Patronato vs Gimnasia La Plata: Prediction
Patronato are considered slight favorites to win, but… the way they have looked thus far, I wouldn’t bet on them to beat… anyone.
Patronato vs Gimnasia La Plata: Betting Tips
Gimnasia’s win in “draw no bet” is at 2.00, and their double chance at 1.55. Their clean sheet pays 2.75, and looks worth the risk, keeping in mind how… harmless Patronato have looked in their first four games.
