Perak vs Kitchee
Competition: AFC Champions League
Date: 12 February 2019
Kick-off: 14:00 CET
Perak found their way to the AFC Champions League second qualifying round… from the window, not the door, as technically they didn’t really qualify. Pahang should be “here” instead, having won the Malaysia Cup last season, but they are in trouble with the AFC, they lost their right to compete internationally, and Perak were called in, having finished second last year in Malaysia’s championship. This is their first appearance in Asia’s biggest competition (at club level), and the fact that they are playing at home, leaves them room for optimism that this won’t be their first and last game in the competition this season. The new season in Malaysia started 10 days ago, and Perak have picked up just one point from their first two matches.
Kitchee are Hong Kong’s reigning champions, and that earned them a ticket to the second qualifying round. This is their fifth appearance in the competition. Last season they played in the group stage, but lost five of their six games, and got eliminated. Interestingly, they did beat Kashiwa Reysol at home, scoring their only goal in six group matches. Reysol were reduced to 10 men in the 15th minute, and Kitchee scored in added time. Unfortunately (for us, who would love to see him play again), they no longer have Diego Forlán. The iconic Uruguayan striker spent the first half of 2018 at Kitchee. The Hong Kong champions have several foreigners, a good number of whom now have dual citizenship, not occupying spots of foreigners in the roster. Their last game was two weeks ago, a 2-3 defeat to Pegasus in the Sapling Cup.

Perak are considered slight favorites to win the game, but I don’t trust them.
Perak vs Kitchee: Betting Tips
Kitchee’s win in “draw no bet” is at 1.83, with their double chance at just 1.53. I expect them to qualify, but have doubts regarding their win in 90 minutes.
