Piast Gliwice vs Cracovia Krakow
Competition: Poland Ekstraklasa
Date: 18 November 2017
Kick-off: 15:30 CET
Papadopulos must have been absolutely gutted at the end of the match at Nieciecza two weeks ago. With the game still at 0-0, halfway though the second half, the referee gave Piast a penalty, using the VAR system. Papadopulos took it, for the first time this season, but his execution was poor. Come added time, with the score at 1-0, he did what he does best, he headed the ball in, his sixth goal of the season, all with headers. It looked like he had salvaged a point for his team, but before added time was over, Nieciecza made it 2-1, depriving Piast of the point they definitely deserved. They had traveled to Nieciecza having picked up five points in their three previous matches, it was the first time this season they had managed to go unbeaten for three weeks, and losing the way they lost, was just… too harsh for them. They are second-to-last in the table, having only Pogon Szczecin below them.
Two weeks ago, Cracovia Krakow visited Zaglebie Lubin, and despite being considered outsiders, playing against one of the best teams in the country this season, I saw them score, possibly more than once, suggesting “both teams to score” and “over 2.5 goals” instead of Zaglebie’s win (all three were paying almost the same). Cracovia won the game 2-1, and… sure, the result is rather flattering for them, they got… terrorized in the last 20-25 minutes, seeing Zaglebie miss three-four great chances, but at the end of the day, they managed to leave Lubin with all three points, a major-major boost for them. They have stayed undefeated in their last five matches, leaving behind them – up to a point – the unbelievably bad start of the season. They remain low in the table, 14th, but they have definitely started looking like a team you need to take seriously, instead of the joke of a team that traveled around Poland the first two and a half months of the season.

Piast Gliwice vs Cracovia Krakow: Prediction
Piast are considered favorites to win, but I have serious-serious doubts. I prefer to bet on goals.
Piast Gliwice vs Cracovia Krakow: Betting Tips
“Both teams to score” is at 1.66, kind of low, but I do consider it very-very probable. “Over 2.5 combined goals” is at 1.85 betting odds, and I like it a lot, keeping in mind how vulnerable both teams have looked defensively this season, even in games they won.
