Piast Gliwice vs Wisla Krakow
Competition: Poland Ekstraklasa
Date: 25 February 2017
Kick-off: 15:30 CET
Piast Gliwice had four draws and two defeats before visiting Lechia Gdansk last weekend, having fallen last in the table, seeing even Pogon Szczecin’s back. They reacted, they were better than Lechia, took the lead in the 65th minute, and not just that, but lady luck was with them as well. A few minutes later, a Lechia player got injured, but they had already made all three substitutions, so Piast played with a numerical advantage for more than 20 minutes. They definitely ruled on the pitch, they didn’t allow Lechia a single real chance to equalise, they lost a couple of great chances themselves, and in added time, Michal Papadopulos put the cherry on top for them, beautifully curving the ball past Dusan Kuciak’s reach. Major win for Piast, who absolutely needed a “three-pointer”.
Last weekend’s Wisla Krakow vs Arka Gdynia is a game Zoran Arsenic will never forget. The 23-year-old Croatian defender who moved to Wisla from Osijek last summer, scored not only his first goal for the “White Star”, but his second as well, in just over 30 minutes. And they weren’t… “any” goals. First, he gave Wisla the lead, 2-1, and in the 83rd minute he did it again, 3-2, which was the final score. Wisla were lucky to find Arka’s usually reliable goalkeeper in his worst day of the season thus far, and… made him pay for that. Obviously, credit goes to Wisla’s players for grabbing the gifts Pavels Šteinbors made them, but still, Wisla were lucky to see one of the Ekstraklasa’s best keepers commit several major mistakes in a single game.

Piast Gliwice vs Wisla Krakow: Head to head Stats
Two wins for Piast, two for Wisla, and a draw, in the last five games between these two in Gliwice. Four of those five matches stayed under 2.5 goals.
Piast Gliwice vs Wisla Krakow: Prediction
I’m backing Piast Gliwice to earn at least a draw. I still don’t trust Wisla Krakow, despite their win last weekend, which, from my point of view, came mostly thanks to Arka keeper’s major mistakes.
Piast Gliwice vs Wisla Krakow: Betting Tips
Piast’s double chance pays 1.50. Their win in “draw no bet” is at 1.90 betting odds. My main tip though is “over 2.5 goals”, at 2.00. I expect goals from both sides, and at least three.
