Platanias vs Panionios
Competition: Greece Super League
Date: 29 April 2018
Kick-off: 18:00 CET
This is Platanias’ last home Super League game until… who knows when… They are getting relegated, and their coach admitted a couple of days ago that right now, no one can be sure how things will be at the club next season, if they will be able to form a competitive roster to fight for their immediate return to the Super League. Last weekend they lost 4-1 at Atromitos, their eight straight defeat in the championship, eight matches in which they scored just three goals, and conceded 22, almost three per game. It has been a season to forget for the Crete side, and what’s even more alarming for them is that the immediate future looks bleak. Money is an issue, the lack of it, so… really, next season’s Platanias looks like an enigma right now.
It feels… surreal, but Panionios haven’t won in nine matches(!). Last weekend they lost 3-0 at home to Panathinaikos, disappointing their fans, once again. The team that impressed everyone last season, were a shadow of themselves this season, even though, truth is, the players are not the only ones to blame. Key figures started leaving even before the end of last season, they kept leaving even last December, and the new ones who came in to cover the gaps, simply didn’t prove good enough. They had interesting CVs, but things didn’t work out for them at Panionios. The Nea Smirni side are 9th, with the club having already turned their attention to next season, terminating player contracts, and approaching, according to reports, Levadiakos’ coach, Jose Anigo, hoping to convince him to take over.

Platanias vs Panionios: Head to head Stats
Three Platanias wins(!) and two draws in the last five games between these two in Crete. Two of those five matches went over 2.5 goals.
Platanias vs Panionios: Prediction
Platanias have just 10 points from 28 matches, but… insane as this may look to many, I feel they have a real chance to get at least one point in this match, against a very poor (for weeks now) opponent. It’s their last home game of the season, their last home game in the Super League for who knows how long, so… I feel risking with their double chance is worth it.
Platanias vs Panionios: Betting Tips
“Platanias or draw” pays 2.50, and as previously mentioned, I do feel it’s worth the risk. “Under 2.5 goals”, at 1.95, is another bet I like in this game.
