Pogon Szczecin vs Lech Poznan match previews
Competition: Poland Ekstraklasa
Date: 10 September 2017
Kick-off: 18:00 CET
Everything had to go wrong for Pogon Szczecin to lose at Sandecja Nowy Sacz two weeks ago. They were 1-0 up by halftime, looking to be controlling the game. So far so good. Even Sandecja’s equalizer in the 56th minute didn’t seem to discourage the visitors, as they kept pushing for another goal that would give them the lead again. Unfortunately for them, the referee and his assistant failed to see a very clear handball (elbow-ball) of a Sandecja defender inside his box, with the score still at 1-1. Before they knew it, Kolev had sent the ball in again, his second goal in the match, 2-1 for Sandecja, a very disappointing result for Pogon after their big 3-0 win at Arka Gdynia, a week earlier.
In a league that seems to have very-very few teams that ‘deliver’ on a regular basis, not having dramatic ups and downs, KKS Lech Poznan are one of the few exceptions, and it’s no wonder how they have managed to climb to the top spot, which they were sharing with Zaglebie Lubin before this weekend’s games started. Lech had just one point in their first two matches, with key players though getting rested in the Ekstraklasa games, as the team were fighting in Europa League’s qualifying rounds against FC Utrecht. Once their European dream came to an end, they really… stepped on it domestically, winning back-to-back games, dropping points only against a very competitive – this season – Zaglebie Lubin, and, very importantly, playing good football, like in their last game, their 3-0 home win over Arka Gdynia.

Pogon Szczecin vs Lech Poznan: Head to head Stats
In terms of h2h stats there have been two wins for Pogon and three for Lech in the last five head to head games in Szczecin, with two of those matches being Cup ones. Also two of those five games went over 2.5 total goals.
Pogon Szczecin vs Lech Poznan: Prediction
Pogon beat Lech 3-0 at home exactly a month ago, but that was a Cup game, a knock-out one, in which both teams played with several reserves (mostly Lech). So in terms of match predictions the Poznan side has convinced me they are serious in dealing with any opponent, no matter how high or low is the position they occupy in the table, and I can see them win this game, also taking into consideration how inconsistent Pogon have looked so far.
Pogon Szczecin vs Lech Poznan: Betting Tips
Lech’s win pays 2.35 betting odds, and that’s rather satisfying enough to avoid playing with special bets fire.
