Poland vs Senegal
Competition: 2018 World Cup finals
Date: 19 June 2018
Kick-off: 17:00 CET
A Milik injury is the last thing Poland needed just a couple of days before they kick off their World Cup finals campaign, and it looks like they avoided it. The Polish striker injured his hand during his time off, not in training, but turned out it wasn’t something serious. Poland already lost Glik, their most experienced defender, who got seriously injured in training, hours after Poland had sent FIFA their final 23-man list for the finals. He had to be substituted. Poland wasted a two-goal lead against Chile in a friendly game ten days ago, but subsequently beat Lithuania 4-0. Obviously, Chile have nothing to do with Lithuania, level-wise, but the Poles looked very threatening, offensively, in both games. They have now scored nine(!) goals in their last three friendlies. Poland last played in World Cup finals in 2006.
Senegal needed a good performance and a positive result to boost their morale right before the finals start, and that’s exactly what they got against South Korea, a week ago. They beat them 2-0, their first, their ONLY win in friendly games, after the end of the World Cup qualifiers. Earlier, they had drawn with Uzbekistan(!), Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Luxembourg(!!), plus, they had lost to Croatia. They have several skillful players, no one more than Sadio Mane, but there are several doubts regarding their readiness level for this competition. Senegal last played in World Cup finals in 2002. Actually, that’s their only previous appearance, and back then they made it to the quarterfinals(!).

Poland vs Senegal: Head to head Stats
This is the first game ever between these two.
Poland vs Senegal: Prediction
Poland are considered slight favorites to win the game. Personally, I will be very surprised if they lose, and deep down I expect them to score… half a goal more than Senegal and pick up all three points.
Poland vs Senegal: Betting Tips
Poland’s win pays 2.40, which I find good enough to make the risk worth it. Their double chance is at just 1.34. Robert Lewandowski to score anytime pays 1.95, and saves you from worrying about winners and losers. Remember, he’s Poland’s penalty-taker.
