Porto vs Roma
Competition: UEFA Champions League
Date: 6 March 2019
Kick-off: 21:00 CET
Adrián’s goal in the 79th minute in the first leg made a big difference. If Porto had left Rome with a 2-0 defeat, things for them now would be… not impossible, but close to that. Their next three games went… ideally, winning all three, two in their championship and one in Portugal’s Cup, without conceding a single goal, scoring a total of eight. Then, last weekend, came a super painful defeat; 1-2, at home, to Benfica, a result that left them second in the table, getting leapfrogged by their… bitter rivals, who are now two points ahead of them, leading. Porto need to… pick their pieces up, deal with what happened last weekend, or not… Be reminded, they won all three group matches at home, over Galatasaray (1-0), Lokomotiv Moscow (4-1), and Schalke (3-1). Any of these three results would have them in the quarterfinals, even a narrow 1-0.
One thing Roma have in common with Porto, and they don’t like it one single bit, is that they just lost a big derby as well. They faced Lazio on Saturday, and they got embarrassed, losing 3-0. They had won four games in a row, Italy Serie A and UEFA Champions League combined, but nothing worked for them last weekend. The first leg against Porto was 19-year-old Nicolo Zaniolo’s… arrival at the big stage. He has scored three goals in 17 Serie A appearances this season, but scoring twice (in a matter of a few minutes!) in a Champions League round of 16 match was… “wow”. Roma would be perfectly fine with a goalless draw, but they definitely have the players to score in Porto, and more than once.

Porto vs Roma: Head to head Stats
Porto have hosted Roma twice before; they beat them 2-0 in 1981, and drew 1-1 in 2016.
Porto vs Roma: Prediction
Porto are considered rather clear favorites to win. I prefer focusing on goals instead.
Porto vs Roma: Betting Tips
“Both teams to score” is at 1.60, but combined with “over 2.5 goals” it goes up to 1.97. Porto’s double chance combined with “over 2.5 goals” pays 2.40.
