Queens Park Rangers vs Cardiff City
Competition: England Championship
Date: 1 January 2018
Kick-off: 16:00 CET
Queens Park Rangers were kind of… unlucky to face Millwall possibly during their best period since the start of the season, and, away from home on Friday. They lost 1-0, a defeat that put an end to their three-game streak of positive results. They are 18th in the table, five points above the relegation line. As hosts, they haven’t won in two months. Last time they celebrated a win in front of their own fans, was on October 31, at the expense of Sheffield United. Ever since then, they have scored in all four home games, but they have conceded a combined eight goals, earning no more than two points.
“What the heck is happening with them?” That’s what someone could be wondering about Cardiff City. Three game weeks ago, meaning… mid December, they were second in the table, right behind leaders Wolves. Three games down the road, three defeats later, they are fourth, 11 whole points behind Wolves, who were more than happy to see one of their main competitors shoot their own foot, again, and again, and again… On Friday, it was Preston North End who snatched a golden victory at Cardiff City, thanks to an added-time goal. Before that, Cardiff had lost at Bolton Wanderers and at home to Fulham, leaving their fans in disbelief. They need something to help them… snap out of it, and the fact that they are playing against a rather average team is probably a great opportunity to draw a line and go back to being… Cardiff City.

Queens Park Rangers vs Cardiff City: Head to head Stats
Three wins for QPR, one for Cardiff, and a draw, in the five games between these two the last 10 years with QPR as hosts. Three of those five matches went over 2.5 goals.
Queens Park Rangers vs Cardiff City: Prediction
Cardiff City are given a slight advantage to win the game, but… at this point, I simply cannot back them to leave the pitch with all three points. I do expect them to get “something” out of this match, though.
Queens Park Rangers vs Cardiff City: Betting Tips
Cardiff City’s double chance pays 1.44, low, but… I just can’t imagine them lose a fourth game in a row. Their win in “draw no bet” pays 1.80, and that’s the only way I would bet on their victory, with the safety net of “draw no bet”. “Over 2.5 goals” pays 2.00, and suits my hunch that there will be an early goal, which will help push the game over 2.5.
