RB Leipzig vs Eintracht Frankfurt
Competition: Germany Bundesliga
Date: 9 February 2019
Kick-off: 15:30 CET
RB Leipzig lost 0-1 at home to Borussia Dortmund in their first official game in 2019, but they have definitely bounced back in style; triumph (0-4) at Fortuna Dusseldorf, easy 0-3 at Hannover, and, midweek, 1-0 win at home over Wolfsburg, in the DFB Pokal, qualifying for the quarterfinals. Timo Werner missed both their last two games, down with a flu. He is expected to be back this weekend though. Gulacsi, Klostermann, Ilsanker, Orban, Halstenberg, Sabitzer, Adams, Demme, Kampl, Werner and Poulsen, this will be the starting lineup if there are no late surprises. Coach Ralf Rangnick doesn’t have injured Haidara, Smith Rowe, Upamecano, and suspended Konate at his disposal. Leipzig are fourth in the Bundesliga table, on 37 points, five behind Gladbach and Bayern, and five ahead of Eintracht. Unlike other top five teams, they don’t have international games in the first half of 2019.
A draw at home is not the best possible result, but if that point is earned against the leaders, then… the pill is made easier to swallow. Luka Jovic scored his 14th goal of the season to equalize Borussia Dortmund 1-1 last weekend, in the 36th minute. The score didn’t change after that, leaving Eintracht with a single point. Two weeks ago, they were just one behind RB Leipzig, and today they are five, but they have their golden opportunity to make that “two”. Trapp, Hinteregger, Hasebe, N’Dicka, Da Costa, Rode, Fernandes, Kostic, Rebic, Haller and Jovic, this is expected to be their starting lineup. Abraham and Stendera were considered doubtful the day before the match. Chandler and Torro are definitely out, injured.

RB Leipzig vs Eintracht Frankfurt: Head to head Stats
Two Leipzig wins the last two years over Eintracht at home.
RB Leipzig vs Eintracht Frankfurt: Prediction
I like Eintracht’s chances of leaving Leipzig undefeated. They may be visiting an in-form team, but they too have been doing well, having lost just one of their last seven official matches, and that was to Bayern Munich, when the Bavarians were flying from one victory to another.
RB Leipzig vs Eintracht Frankfurt: Betting Tips
Eintracht’s double chance is at 2.05. For more than that, I would try the same combined with “over 1.5”, at 2.60.
