Real Madrid vs CSKA Moscow
Date: 19 October 2017
Time: 21:00 CET
What an amazing start of the season for the Real Madrid! Having Sergio Llull sidelined for several months surely discouraged many of their fans about the chances in the Euroleague this season, but Luka Doncic practically exploded after the Eurobasket (in addition to recent signing of Chasson Randle), and at the moment this team is playing probably the best basketball in the last couple of years. Real is sitting at the top of ACB league (4-0 record), following a win at Valencia last weekend (86:82), and the Euroleague 1st round win at Istanbul against Anadolu Efes last Thursday (88:74). It seems they’re highly motivated to continue this winning streak in front of their fans, against CSKA Moscow side, probably the toughest opponent this season so far.
CSKA have also started this season in a great manner, winning all 3 games in VTB league and against Olimpia Milano in the Euroleague (93:84). They certainly miss Milos Teodosic from the last season’s team, but Sergio Rodriguez, De Colo and Higgins will try to lead this team to another Final Four, and maybe even to the trophy. But on their way, they’ll have plenty of games like this one. VTB league is not as strong as Spanish ACB, so this is definitely the first real test for the Russian side to see what they’re made of. Anyway, a great game is guaranteed.

Real Madrid vs CSKA Moscow: Head to Head Stats
CSKA Moscow won the last encounter between these two teams, in May, at the Euroleague Final Four (semi-final, 94:70). The Russian side was also more successful in the recent history, and won 4 out of their last 5 games, with Real winning the last game played in Madrid in January (95:85).
Real Madrid vs CSKA Moscow: Prediction
Despite their head-to-head stats, I would give an advantage to Real Madrid in this game, with a simple win or, preferably, a certain point spread.
Real Madrid vs CSKA Moscow: Betting Tips
A Real Madrid win is a reasonable bet (@1.66), but their win by 3 or more points sounds very tempting (@1.90), and I believe it’s definitely worth the risk.
