Real Madrid vs CSKA Moscow
Date: 21st May 2017
Kick-off: 17:00 CET
In the game for the third place in the current edition of the Euroleague, Real Madrid will be playing against CSKA Moscow. Not a lot of people expected exactly these two teams to be out of the final, but here they are.
Real Madrid were absolutely outplayed in their semi-final against Fenerbahce, as the team from Istanbul dominated them throughout the entire game. As a result, the Whites will be playing for the bronze, but don’t expect them to be very motivated on Sunday.
CSKA are definitely not happy to be taking part of the battle for the third place instead of playing in the final. However, they were absolutely dominated by Olympiacos in the fourth quarter of their semi-final, with the team from Piraeus winning the period by 22 to 14. Thus, CSKA will not be retaining their Euroleague crown and will have to win against Real Madrid on Sunday if they are to at least get the bronze.

Real Madrid vs CSKA Moscow: Prediction
The match for the third place on Sunday between Real Madrid and CSKA definitely won’t be as spectacular as if the game between them was a final, but it will nonetheless be quite exciting. Unfortunately, neither squad will be going out on the court full of motivation, as we all know that all players will still be quite disappointed from their semi-final losses.
However, we will at least see a battle between the two teams with the most powerful offenses from the regular season. Thus, the winner between Real Madrid and CSKA will most likely be the club that manages to display better performance on the defensive end. During the semi-finals, neither team actually made an impression in terms of stopping their opponents from scoring, as both Olympiacos and Fenerbahce are not the best offensive squads, but they scored 82 and 84 points respectively.
Expect a win for Real Madrid in the end, as they would more likely be less-demotivated than CSKA and will manage to perform a little bit better on Sunday.
