Real Madrid vs Liverpool
Competition: UEFA Champions League
Date: 26 May 2017
Kick-off: 20:45 CET
Last season, Real Madrid became the first club to win the Champions League in back-to-back years ever since the competition got revamped and renamed. They also became the first team in almost 30 years to lift Europe’s (the whole planet’s actually) most important trophy (at club level) in consecutive seasons. Now, they have the golden opportunity for a “three-peat”, the first since 1976, when Bayern Munich won their third “European Champion Clubs’ Cup” in a row. Zinedine Zidane’s only… problem is to choose whom he’ll start. He has all his players at his disposal. According to reports in Spain, he could start with all three “BBC” members, not just Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, but even Gareth Bale, who has been looking very good in training for days now. Real Madrid finished third in LaLiga last weekend, 17 whole points behind champions Barcelona, and three behind second-placed Atlético Madrid.
Jurgen Klopp rather surprised many in a Press conference midweek, when asked about Real Madrid’s weaknesses. He named Marcelo, he singled him out, saying that he… attacks too much, and doesn’t defend as much, as if saying that Real Madrid’s left side is where Liverpool will strike, trying to make them pay for how attack-minded Marcelo is. Then again, it may have been just a… mind game, something to make the Brazilian full-back think twice before going forward. Unlike Real Madrid, Liverpool have players missing. Joel Matip, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Joe Gomez are injured and ruled out. On the other hand, Emre Can is back, and so is Adam Lallana. Also, James Milner should be able to start, having shaken off a minor injury. The Reds finished fourth in the Premier League, securing a Champions League group stage ticket for next season.

Real Madrid vs Liverpool: Head to head Stats
Liverpool beat Real Madrid 1-0 in 1981, in Paris, in the “old” Champions League final. In two games in Spain, the Reds have a win and a loss. Same with Real Madrid in England, a win and a loss.
Real Madrid vs Liverpool: Prediction
Real Madrid are considered favorites to lift the trophy, and even win the game in 90 minutes. Deep down, I agree with that, but betting-wise, I prefer to leave winners and losers aside, and bet on goals instead.
Real Madrid vs Liverpool: Betting Tips
If this were a final between other teams, I would be hesitant to bet on “over 3.5 goals”, because certain teams tend to… hold back in huge games (if not in all games, trying to “steal” matches by one goal). Having Real Madrid and Liverpool in the final, I feel very confident that we are not going to get bored, we are going to see goals, and several, actually. “Over 3.5 goals” is my tip, paying 2.10.
