Real Madrid vs Unicaja Malaga
Competition : Turkish Airlines Euroleague
Date : 16 November 2017
Time : 21:00 CET
Real Madrid are in a downward spiral in the month of November, as they have lost 4 of their 5 matches in that span. They are coming off yet another loss, and what a loss it was, as they were destroyed by 105:75 on the road against Baskonia. They never got their heads into that game, as they were already down by 19 points in the first quarter. They never really recovered from that, as they looked pretty uninspired throughout the whole match. Doncic was the usual suspect with a game-hight 18 points, but he was pretty much fighting all alone, as only Walter Tavares helped him with 10 points and 7 rebounds. After winning their first 4 matches in the Euroleague, Real Madrid have now lost 3 in a row, and have fallen to the 6th spot of the league table (W4 L3). They still have the top offense with 85 points per match, but are conceding 82.85 too. Randolph will be out adding himself to the injury list that also contains Ayon and Kuzmic.
On the other hand, Unicaja Malaga were the favorites to win their previous match against Zalgiris Kaunas at home, but we successfuly predicted that the visitors would remain competitive. After a 72:72 tie in the regular time, Unicaja Malaga were outscored by Zalgiris Kaunas by 11:13 in the overtime, and met their 3rd loss in their last 4 matches in all competitions. Apart from McCallum (19p) and Brooks (16p, 11r), Unicaja Malaga got very few stats from other players. They are now sitting at the 14th spot of the Euroleague (W3 L4), scoring a mere 71.71 points per match, while conceding 75.57. They have also struggled in the domestic ACB, where they are sitting at the 9th spot with just 4 wins after 8 matches. Nedovic missed the home game with Zalgiris and at the moment it’s still unclear if he will play in Madrid, altough he did travel with the team (source).
