Roma vs CSKA Moscow
Competition: UEFA Champions League
Date: 23 October 2018
Kick-off: 21:00 CET
Roma were… “wow” earlier this month, when they hosted Viktoria Plzen. It wasn’t just their five goals, which, obviously, was impressive in its own right, but they also finished the game on 22 attempts, 13 of those on target, and 13 from inside the box. Plus, 11 corners won, and more than 60% ball possession. Edin Džeko scored three of their five goals, which was actually the first time ever that a Roma player scored a hat-trick in a Champions League game. The Italian side earned their first points in the group, after losing to Real Madrid on their debut, in Spain. On Saturday, they were the victims of a mega surprise in Italy’s Serie A. They lost 0-2 to SPAL at home.
Nikola Vlašić scored just 65 seconds into the game three weeks ago, when CSKA Moscow hosted Real Madrid, and that goal was meant to be the only one of the match. CSKA were super lucky to see three Real Madrid attempts hit the post. The Russian side finished the game on eight attempts, their opponents had 26(!), but incredibly, the on target ones were 3-3(!). Ball possession? 30-70%! Generally, numbers screamed out loud that CSKA were very lucky to earn all three points. Their goalkeeper, Igor Akinfeev, got sent off in added time (second yellow card), after keeping a super rare (in the Champions League) clean sheet. On Friday, CSKA beat Anzhi 0-2 away from home, to reach 19 points from 11 matches in Russia’s championship. They are third in the table there, six points behind leaders Zenit. On four points from two matches in their CL group, they’re looking good, if not great.

A simple Roma victory is at 1.35, only. “Over 2.5 goals” pays 1.62, and combined with Roma’s win it goes up to 1.90, my main tip.
