Roma vs Porto
Competition: UEFA Champions League
Date: 12 February 2019
Kick-off: 21:00 CET
That 0-3 win at Chievo on Friday was exactly what Roma needed just before hosting Porto, not just three points added in their Serie A tally, but also a morale boost, after their three previous poor (to… horrible) results. Remember, just over two weeks ago, they were winning 0-3 at Atalanta, but… somehow they “managed” to get equalized, had to settle for a point, and right after that, they got destroyed by Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia, not just losing, but… getting humiliated (7-1!). At least they avoided losing to Milan (1-1). Still, the situation looks… under control, in the sense that they remain in the top four in their championship, and on top of that, Porto are not a rival that… scares them. They have been having a very good season in Portugal, but they are not… Barcelona, Liverpool, or Bayern Munich.
Porto may be leading in Portugal’s championship, but their recent results were not the best possible. They have played two matches this month, at Vitória Guimarães and Moreirense, both away from home, and all they earned was two points from possible six. What’s particularly interesting is that they had no draw in their first 16 matches, they had won 14, lost two, but they have now drawn in three of their last five games (in the championship). Be reminded, they had an excellent group stage in the Champions League between September and December, winning five matches, and drawing in one, on their debut, at Schalke. Roma on the other hand, lost three times in their group, not just to Real Madrid (twice), but also at Viktoria Plzen(!).

Roma vs Porto: Head to head Stats
Roma have hosted Porto twice before; they drew 0-0 in 1981, and lost 0-3 in 2016.
Roma vs Porto: Prediction
The hosts are considered favorites to win, but I would leave their 2.05 aside, focusing on goals instead.
Roma vs Porto: Betting Tips
“Under 2.5 goals”, at 1.90, is a bet I like in this match, expecting Porto to keep the score low. Draw pays 3.50, and combined with “under 2.5 goals” it’s at 4.30.
