Rosario Central vs San Martin San Juan
Competition: Argentina Superliga
Date: 28 November 2018
Kick-off: 01:00 CET
Rosario Central played a rare – the last three months – good game on Friday to beat Estudiantes 2-1 at home. Fernando Zampedri opened the scoring in the 14th minute, and just before halftime things got even better for Central, when Estudiantes lost a player to a second yellow card. Washington Camacho’s goal in the 80th minute seemed to be putting the game to bed, but Estudiantes shortened the gap in the 86th minute. They didn’t really threaten Central though, after that. Edgardo Bauza’s side started the season winning their first three games, but amazingly, last Friday’s was the first victory since then, since late August(!), first win in nine Superliga matches. They are on 15 points from 12 games, 16th in the table, anxiously waiting to find out whom they’ll face in the Copa Argentina final. They have already secured a spot there, and their rival will be either River Plate or Gimnasia La Plata.
San Martín San Juan had lost three games in a row before visiting Gimnasia La Plata last Wednesday. There, several little but important details went their way, and ended up winning the game, 0-2. Merit to them, despite their very lucky first goal, and the fact they finished the match on less attempts, and considerably smaller ball possession than Gimnasia. You could say they were more effective than their hosts. It was their first win in six away matches this season. They are 22nd in the Superliga table, on 11 points from as many games, but what matters the most is their position in the “promedio” table; there, they are 22nd as well, meaning that if the season were over today, they would just be avoiding relegation.

Rosario Central vs San Martin San Juan: Prediction
I remain unconvinced by Rosario Central, despite their good game on Friday. They haven’t played two good matches in a row in months now.
Rosario Central vs San Martin San Juan: Betting Tips
San Martín’s double chance pays 1.93, better than Central’s win. Deep down I expect a draw, but even 1.93 is decent enough, I reckon, to avoid taking an even bigger risk.
