Rosenborg vs Celtic
Competition: UEFA Europa League
Date: 29 November 2018
Kick-off: 18:55 CET
If you love mathematics, you should know there is a crazy scenario that allows bottom-of-the-table Rosenborg to still be dreaming of finishing in the top-2; if they beat Celtic at home, RB Leipzig in Germany in two weeks, and Salzburg beat both Leipzig and Celtic, three teams will finish on six points each, and then it will come down to goal difference in the matches between them. It’s a crazy scenario, one I seriously doubt even Rosenborg themselves believe in. Three weeks ago they got destroyed by Salzburg at home, 2-5. The championship in Norway ended last weekend, Rosenborg drew, but they still won the title, they would have won it even if they had lost, as they had second-placed Molde at a… safe distance.
That 2-1 win over RB Leipzig three weeks ago left Celtic with a bittersweet taste. They did “catch” the German side on six points, but they stayed third in the table, because they had lost 2-0 in Germany. In two weeks they are hosting Salzburg, while Leipzig will be hosting Rosenborg. It’s… clear what they need, at least one point more than Leipzig in the two remaining matches. Last weekend they beat Hamilton Academical 0-3 on the road, remaining first in the table in Scotland’s championship. They are two points ahead of second-placed Rangers, with both having taken perfect advantage of Hearts’ collapse (three defeats in a row).

Rosenborg have hosted Celtic four times in the past; one win for them, two for the Scots, and a draw. Total goals, 3-4.
Rosenborg vs Celtic: Prediction
Celtic are considered clear favorites to win the game. With all due respect to their history, fans, and current team, in this game I see them drop the ball.
Rosenborg vs Celtic: Betting Tips
I’m backing Rosenborg to earn at least a draw, mostly because I distrust Celtic, I don’t consider them capable of winning a very important game away from home. “Rosenborg or draw” is at 2.30.
