San Lorenzo vs Estudiantes
Competition: Argentina Superliga
Date: 8 December 2018
Kick-off: 21:10 CET
San Lorenzo haven’t won in their last six games, Superliga and Copa Argentina combined. Last weekend they came super close to beating Aldosivi in Mar del Plata, but they got equalized (2-2) in added time. Jorge Almirón, their coach, is not hiding that he is anxiously waiting for the long break (the season restarts the last weekend of January), so as to work with his players – after their vacation – without having a game every few days. Earlier this week it was made known that the team will “move” to Brazil for 10 days, some place close to Porto Alegre, and not stay in Buenos Aires, as planned. Center-forward Nicolás Blandi remains unavailable, injured. Right-back Marcelo Herrera got injured last weekend, in the game versus Aldosivi. Defensive midfielder Gerónimo Poblete also got injured. Last, center-back Fabricio Coloccini is back from injury, but still feeling some pain, so most probably Almirón won’t risk him this weekend. San Lorenzo are just 22nd in the table, on 12 points from 13 matches.
The game in Quilmes last weekend had hardly started when Gastón Fernández gave Estudiantes the lead over Lanús, but that lead didn’t last long. In about five minutes Lanús equalized, and that 1-1 didn’t change in the remainder of the game. It was a fun match to watch, with both teams trying to play football, create chances, score. It was Estudiantes’ fourth match in a row without a victory. They are 15th in the table, on 17 points from 14 matches. It’s interesting that three of Estudiantes’ last four matches were 1-1 draws. Before that, they had won three games in a row without conceding.

San Lorenzo vs Estudiantes: Head to head Stats
One win for San Lorenzo, two for Estudiantes, and two draws, in the last five games between these two in Buenos Aires.
San Lorenzo vs Estudiantes: Prediction
San Lorenzo haven’t won a game in a month and a half now, and have several problems with players missing.
San Lorenzo vs Estudiantes: Betting Tips
Estudiantes’ double chance is at 1.75. Draw alone, at 3.00, feels – to me – more probable than an Estudiantes win, and is my riskier tip, if you don’t find 1.75 good enough.
