San Martin San Juan vs Union Santa Fe
Competition: Argentina Superliga
Date: 3 December 2018
Kick-off: 23:20 CET
San Martín San Juan visited Rosario Central last Tuesday, right after beating Gimnasia in La Plata. They lost 1-0, left furious at the referee for not awarding them a penalty in the first half, before Central’s goal. As long as clear penalties go, that was right up there, one of those refereeing mistakes that make you wonder “how could he – and his closest assistant – miss THAT?” Well, Lamolina and his assistant missed the Central defender’s clear-clear handball, and San Juan ended up losing the game, with their coach yelling at the referee, “if you have decided to get us relegated, tell us, so we know”. San Martín are 24th in the Superliga table, on 11 points from 12 matches. They are 23rd in the promedio table, meaning that if the season were over today, they would be getting relegated.
Simply put, Unión Santa Fe lost to a better team last weekend. They hosted Vélez Sarsfield, went 0-1 down in the 12th minute, got outplayed by Gabriel Heinze’s team, conceded again in the 81st minute, and lost 0-2, with their coach later admitting that Vélez were better, and deserved all three points. Unión are 9th in the table, on 19 points from 12 matches, but having earned just one from their last three, despite the fact that all three were at home(!).

San Martin San Juan vs Union Santa Fe: Head to head Stats
The last two games between these two in San Juan ended in a draw. Before that, San Martín had eight(!) home wins in a row over Unión.
San Martin San Juan vs Union Santa Fe: Prediction
San Martín have two wins and three defeats at home this season, no draw. Unión have lost just one of their five away games, and that was a 1-0 at leaders Racing. I will be surprised if Unión lose this one, but I wouldn’t back them to win.
San Martin San Juan vs Union Santa Fe: Betting Tips
I expect a very tight game, as most of Unión’s away from home (excluding that… abnormal 0-4 win of theirs at Rosario Central). “No” on “both teams to score” is at 1.61, and “under 1.5” pays 2.37.
