Sandecja Nowy Sacz vs Lech Poznan
Competition: Poland Ekstraklasa
Date: 18 November 2017
Kick-off: 18:00 CET
Without Kolev, Sandecja looked like a very different team when they visited Wisla Krakow two weeks ago. It’s not just that they didn’t really threaten Wisla, but also, mostly, their overall… shy approach, very uncharacteristic of them this season. If there is one thing that characterizes their game more than any other, that’s the passion and the… balls they’ve shown in almost every single game since the start of the season. And yet, in Krakow they lost practically with their hands down, as if the guys in those black and white jerseys were not the same ones who had left their blood and sweat on the field in the previous 14 games, even in matches that they lost. They are now sitting 11th in the table, still good for a team that just got promoted to the Ekstraklasa, and have one of the lowest budgets in the league.
When Lech Poznan visited Gornik Zabrze, just before the international break, I gave five tips, from 1.65 to 5.25. All five came good, and “both teams to score” was one of those. I did expect Lech to score (mostly because Gornik are super vulnerable defensively, despite being on fire offensively since the start of the season), but I expected them to lose in a game that would have at least three goals. Lech… suffered in Zabrze, and they are not the first ones who had nightmares playing against Gornik there, this season. They lost 3-1, and the score could have been even heavier for them. Even after closing the gap to 2-1 in the 62nd minute (Gytkjær scored his sixth goal of the season), you could tell that it wasn’t going to be Lech’s night. Gornik’s third goal in the 75th minute put the game to bed, leaving Lech with exactly what they deserved (nothing), not because they were bad, but simply because they had a better team opposite them. Lech had three straight draws before traveling to Zabrze, they have just three points from their last four matches, so no wonder the have fallen from 1st to 5th.

Sandecja Nowy Sacz vs Lech Poznan: Prediction
Was Sandecja’s poor display at Wisla Krakow two weeks ago an exception to the rule, just an isolated bad game? Was it a sign that… they’ve reached their limits? It remains to be seen. All things considered, I’m taking the risk to back Lech to win this game, even though I feel their victory should be paying more than 1.85.
Sandecja Nowy Sacz vs Lech Poznan: Betting Tips
Even at 1.85, which I consider inadequate, I’m taking Lech’s win, counting on them to get their act together and finish 2017 strongly, started with this game. For more than 1.85, I would risk with “Lech and over 2.5 goals”, at 3.00 betting odds, expecting the visitors to score at least twice, and Sandecja to get a consolation goal themselves.
