Sao Paulo vs Gremio
Competition: Brazil Serie A
Date: 15 November 2018
Kick-off: 22:00 CET
Sao Paulo didn’t even wait until Monday to sack Diego Aguirre. A couple of hours after the end of their game at Corinthians, a 1-1 draw, the club announced the Uruguayan coach was no longer in charge. André Jardine has taken over, and has already changed the way the team train, splitting their training ground in smaller quarters, and having smaller groups of players working separately there (during parts of the training sessions). Sao Paulo played with an extra man in the entire second half last weekend, but they were the ones who conceded first, and all they managed was to salvage a point. They are 5th in the table, on 58 points, as many as Gremio, but they have one win less, that’s why they are 5th, and not 4th. Rojas, Gonzalo Carneiro, Luan and Igor Gomes, all four are injured, unavailable. Jardine is expected to have Jean, Bruno Peres, Arboleda, Rodrigo Caio (or Bruno Alves), Reinaldo, Jucilei, Liziero (or Shaylon), Nenê (again, or Shaylon), Everton, Diego Souza and Helinho in the starting lineup.
Gremio… suffered to beat Vasco da Gama at home last weekend. Jael equalized in the 20th minute, soon after Vasco had taken the lead, but the Porto Alegre side had to wait until added time to score that second goal they needed to win the game. Matheus Henrique, a 20-year-old midfielder, scored his second goal in nine appearances this season in the Série A. Renato Gaúcho doesn’t have Luan and Léo Moura at his disposal. Both are injured. Luan hasn’t played in a month now, facing two different injury issues. Left-back Leonardo is also out, injured, and of course, goalkeeper Marcelo Grohe won’t reappear this season, after his injury in the Copa Libertadores semifinal return leg against River Plate. Gremio are expected to start with Paulo Victor, Madson, Geromel, Paulo Miranda, Cortez, Michel, Maicon, Ramiro, Cícero, Everton and Jael.

Sao Paulo vs Gremio: Prediction
The hosts are considered slight favorites to win. I’m backing the visitors to earn at least a draw, and I won’t be surprised if they earn all three points.
