Saracens vs Bristol
Competition: Aviva Premiership Rugby
Date: 29 April 2017
Kick-off: 16:00 CET
Saracens really could use this game against Bristol. There are only two matches left and in the top three, things are tight. The Saracens are chasing Exeter ahead of them, who are chasing Wasps at the summit, so all points will be welcomed in the final push for glory.
The Saracens have lived up to their tags as favourites for this tournament even though it looks as if they are pretty much out of the race. Sarries sit on 72 points, two back from Exeter and then seven back from Wasps. It means mathematically they can still take the title and defend their crown, but it will be hard to see the top two teams dropping too many points in their own push. Saracens will still however be grateful to have a crack at a team that has been woeful all season, and one that is heading for relegation, Bristol. Five points will be the absolute minimum that Saracens should take out of this match as they are a fantastic side at home, and even though they are still in the Champions Cup, they won’t take this lightly.
Bristol have very little to play for as the sand runs out of the hour glass. Relegated a few games back the writing has been on the wall for the Bristol men as they go through the motions after a really poor season. They were shown to not be Premiership quality on a number of occasion but it all came to a head when they lost badly to Worcester in the true basement battle. For Bristol to have to travel to Saracens were not many teams have won, and to try and play for pride and nothing else, there does not seem to be much hope or promise from the visitors.
Saracens vs Bristol: Head-to-Head Stats
Bristol are not exactly a real fixture in the Premiership, so their head-to-head stats are quite low, and often not complementary. Against the Saracens they have just four wins while their opponents can boast 14 wins, and there has been a draw.
Saracens vs Bristol: Prediction
They’re really is no chance for an upset here. Bristol are simply not good enough and Saracens even on their worst day at home will be far too strong for the bottom dwelling club that has all but given up. The only saving grace is that Saracens could well pull out a B-side in order to rest their key players for their upcoming Champions Cup final, but even their squad members will be too much for a strong Bristol side.
Saracens vs Bristol: Tips
Saracens are defensively good, but can tear apart weak teams. Back them to get a big margin of victory thanks to attack and defence.
