Saracens vs Harlequins
Competition: English Premiership Rugby
Date: 08 April 2017
Kick-off: 17:30 CET
This clash is set to be one of the match of the weekend. The Saracens are sitting pretty in second place on the English Premiership log. They are seven point shy of leaders Wasps and could overtake them if things go well in the next four rounds.
Not only are Saracens doing well in the domestic league, they’ve booked a spot in the European Champions Cup semi-finals after a 38-13 demolition of Glasgow to set up a date with Munster. Their star-studded lineup of international heavy weights proved their worth in that match as England’s Chris Ashton scored a brace, while fellow England teammate Brad Barritt and Pumas centre Marcelo Bosch crossed the whitewash.
Saracens genuinely have a good chance of grabbing two trophies this season – in fact it would probably be a good idea to put down money on that happening. They have a dominant forward pack and a world class backline.
They come into this clash off the back of three successive Premiership victories and that Champions Cup win on the weekend – they will fancy themselves, especially at home.
Meanwhile Harlequins are still in the hunt for a spot in the Premiership playoffs. They are in sixth place on the log and trail fourth placed Leicester by five points. A couple of wins and a slip up by Leicester and Bath and they could book a spot in the semifinals.
Quins have plenty of firepower in their lineup and are more than capable of beating the Saracens. They will need to front up physically and their backs will have to be on top of the host’s backline.
If they can dominate the collisions, their outside backs could hold the key to victory.
