Saracens vs Sale Sharks
Competition: European Rugby Champions Cup
Date: 10 December 2016
Kick-off: 18:30 CET
The mighty Saracens have continued from where they left off last year as double champions, they top the English Premiership, and in their group they are also tops with two wins from two. Sale are up next, and will be a familiar foe as the juggernaut from London does not look like stopping.
Sale are not having nearly as good a time as their English companions in Europe, through their two games they currently have 0 points, and have only scored a measly 16 points in those two losses. First, they lost against the Welsh side the Scarlets 28-11, away from home, and then had to welcome the French and European giants Toulon to their home turf where they also lost there 15-5. Not necessarily a pool of death, but with the likes of Saracens and Toulon circling them, Sale would have liked to have at least got some points against the Scarlets, but things will not get easier as they travel to London to take on their domestic league leaders.
Saracens have already past their toughest test in this group, and they look like a real force in every game and competition that they come across. Toulon, away from home was always going to decide this group, and the fact that it happened in the first week made things incredibly interesting as Saracens came out on top there 31-23. Having passed that test, their next encounter against the Scarlets was a mere formality as they brushed them aside 44-26 at home, and are now ready for the first sweep of their group.
Saracens vs Sale Sharks: Domestic form
Saracens are top of their domestic league, but do have a chasing pack that are right on their heels. Until recently, they had only lost one game – against Harlequins, but Bath added another defeat to their tally in their own chase for the top not long ago. Saracens have eight wins and two losses this season.
Sale Sharks are a full 10 spots lower than Saracens on the English Premiership log as they sit in 10th spot with only three wins and a single draw to make up their points from eight games.
Saracens vs Sale Sharks: Prediction
The Saracens winning run has only been broken twice heading way back into last season through the European and Domestic leagues, it is always a safe bet to back them for a win, especially at home, and especially against poorer opposition. Sale will struggle here, and could well get ripped apart as all the English international stars return for this fixture. Expect Saracens to win easily.
Saracens vs Sale Sharks: Tips
With their full strength team, Saracens are near unstoppable and no longer a boring team either. They will score plenty of points against Sale, and keep the Sharks at bay, so bet on Saracens to get over 40 point in this match.
