Slask Wroclaw vs Arka Gdynia
Competition: Poland Ekstraklasa
Date: 19 November 2017
Kick-off: 15:30 CET
“Korona and over 2.5 goals” (3.25) was the riskiest of the four tips I gave two weeks ago when Slask Wroclaw visited Korona Kielce, making it no secret that I didn’t expect Slask to get anything out of that game. They did have a shot on the horizontal post in the 9th minute, but once Korona found rhythm and took the lead, it was all over. Slask lost 3-0, and could have left Kielce with an even heavier score, showing the same problems (defensively) that have cost them too many points since the start of the season. They allow way too many chances to their opponents even in matches they win, but against teams like Korona, talented offensively, with half a dozen players who can score, you must look much more solid at the back to have serious chances of getting a positive result. Slask were 9th before the international break, which is actually what many expected, given the… turbulent summer they had, with all sorts of problems (off the field).
If there is one game every season that Arka absolutely, 101%, want to win, that’s their home match against Lechia Gdansk, their… neighbors in the north of Poland. Two weeks ago they hosted them, and… no, they didn’t lack passion, but they kind of lacked… clear head, cold blood, to make the right decisions the right moments. They didn’t create as many chances as they should have against a team that have one of the worst defenses in the league, they failed to score against a team that had conceded five goals at home just a week earlier, and they got punished deep into added time, when Lechia scored the only goal of the match. Arka are just above Lechia in the table, but watching their derby two weeks ago, you’d be under the impression that Lechia are doing much better this season. They’re not. It’s just that Arka didn’t meet their fans’ expectations, failing to show anything else but passion. Passion is great, but on its own, it doesn’t get you points, let alone all three, in important matches.

Four wins for Slask and one for Arka, no draw, in the last five games between these two in Wroclaw. Four of those five matches had at least three goals.
Slask Wroclaw vs Arka Gdynia: Prediction
I’m going with Slask’s win, not without reservations, but… as hosts, they have been doing very well this season. It’s their away form, mostly, that has cost them.
Slask Wroclaw vs Arka Gdynia: Betting Tips
Slask’s win pays 2.20, and I’m staying with that, avoiding any special bets.
