Slovan Bratislava vs Dundalk
Competition: UEFA Europa League
Date: 7 August 2019
Kick-off: 20:15 CET
Slovan Bratislava were hoping for better news on Monday; they are considered favorites to qualify for the playoffs, but if they do reach those, they will face either PAOK or Ajax. In both cases, they will be underdogs, and especially if it’s Ajax they have to play against, their mission will be almost impossible. Last weekend they beat Feronikeli 0-2 in Kosovo, having beaten them 2-1 at home as well, a week earlier. It was their fifth win in a row, Europa League qualifiers and Slovakia championship combined, five games in which they have scored either two or three goals each. Jan Kozak’s team remain unbeaten in seven official matches this summer. They did get eliminated by Montenegro champions Sutjeska in the Champions League first qualifying round, but on penalties, after drawing twice with them by the same score (1-1).
Dundalk have been playing UEFA competition qualifiers every summer for years now, and here they are, in the Europa League third qualifying round, 180 minutes away from the playoffs. Vinny Perth, their coach, was very optimistic before their trip to Azerbaijan last week to face Qarabag, but Dundalk simply lacked the quality to deal with such an opponent. They lost 3-0, having drawn 1-1 at home a week earlier. Still, Perth remains optimistic, showing big trust in his players. Talking to reporters just before the trip to Azerbaijan last week, he said that the way he sees things, Dundalk are profiting from the fact that the players have adopted to certain… requirements, staying away from alcohol (when they have to).

Slovan Bratislava vs Dundalk: Head to head Stats
No history between these two.
Slovan Bratislava vs Dundalk: Prediction
This is not… Goliath vs David, Slovan are by no means a football Goliath, but still, their budget is almost 10 times bigger than that of Dundalk, so it would be a massive failure if they failed to… take care of this tie.
Slovan Bratislava vs Dundalk: Betting Tips
Slovan’s win pays less than 1.50, so I would risk combining it with “under 3.5 goals”, at 2.02.
