Sol de America vs Deportivo Santani
Competition: Paraguay Clausura
Date: 26 July 2018
Kick-off: 01:00 CET
“Unbelievable… Unbelievable… Unbelievable…” That’s all I could thing of seeing how Sol de América dropped two points at Sportivo Luqueño last weekend… It’s not that they drew 2-2 in a game they were 0-2 up in the 51st minute (scoring back-to-back goals at the start of the second half), it’s mostly the type and the number of chances they lost after that, even after 1-2, to score more. As late as in the 84th and the 90th minute they missed un-be-lie-va-ble chances to score a third goal and secure all three points, going on counterattacks in which they outnumbered the hosts. Then, a deflection, deep into added time, cost them two points, that had their name all over them. The… beauty of football, the irony of football, the… unfairness, someone could say, of football, even though it was mostly Sol themselves who were unfair to their own self, missing all those chances.
Pitiful Deportivo Santaní… I bet against them, suggesting 3 de Febrero’s double chance last weekend, and Santaní did even worse than what I expected, losing the game, conceding twice in the last 10 minutes (1-3). What makes Santaní’s failure even more… ridiculous, other than the fact that they were hosting the weakest team in the league (who finished last in the Apertura), is that they were playing with an extra man since the 14th minute! They were already 1-0 down, managed to finally equalize in the 60th minute, but instead of scoring a second goal themselves, they lost 3-1(!). Should act as a lesson, to their coach as well, who, while celebrating the equalizer in the 60th minute, turned to the fans behind him, fans of his own team, and… exchanged some heated words, angry about things he had heard earlier from the stands. Maybe he should have waiting until the final whistle to feel… vindicated.

Sol de America vs Deportivo Santani: Head to head Stats
Sol beat Santaní 3-2 at home in the Apertura, earlier this year. Before that, they hadn’t hosted them since 2015.
Sol de America vs Deportivo Santani: Prediction
I’m backing Sol to win, mostly because I have zero trust in this Santaní side.
Sol de America vs Deportivo Santani: Betting Tips
Sol’s victory pays a very good 1.93, my main tip. “Over 2.5 goals” is at 1.81, and these two combined pay even better.
