Southampton vs Manchester City
Competition: England Premier League
Date: 30 December 2018
Kick-off: 15:15 CET
Southampton took the lead early in the second half midweek, when they hosted West Ham, but less than three minutes later they got equalized, and ended up losing 1-2, conceding again in a matter of minutes. Once they went 1-2 down, it felt like the game was decided, despite having more than half an hour left. The Saints had beaten Arsenal (at home) and Huddersfield (away) before hosting West Ham, but somehow failed to… remind their fans of the team that earned those six points. They are 16th in the Premier League table, on just 15 points from 19 matches. They have played nine games as hosts this season in the PL, and incredibly, their win over Arsenal earlier this month, that crazy 3-2, is their only one, in nine matches.
Truth be written, I was… partly shocked by Manchester City’s defeat at Leicester midweek. I expected them to bounce back, right after losing to Crystal Palace at home, but… no. They even took the lead at King Power Stadium, early, in the 14th minute, but they got equalized almost right away, and conceded again in the last 10 minutes. Be reminded, a few days earlier, they had taken the lead at home against Crystal Palace, but went 1-3 down after that. You really need to be in their dressing room these days to know for sure what the heck is going on there. It’s just… abnormal, losing two games in a row like that, after taking the lead, to teams that are not even in the top six. Possibly that’s exactly the problem, that facing much weaker sides, City’s players get complacent. It hadn’t happened – often – earlier in the season, but… it’s happening now. They fell third in the table, seven points behind leaders Liverpool, and one behind Tottenham. They are expected to start with Ederson, Stones, Laporte, Walker, Zinchenko, Sane, Gundogan, Silva, De Bruyne, Sterling and Aguero.

Manchester City are considered practically sure winners, but right now, I wouldn’t bet on them.
Southampton vs Manchester City: Betting Tips
“Both teams to score” is at 1.85, my main tip. The same, combined with “over 2.5 goals”, pays 2.17.
